    Brianne Taylor and Jason Garner, both of Glendale, Ariz., were united in marriage on Saturday, June 11, 2011, in a 2 p.m. ceremony at Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.


    The bride is the daughter of Greg and Krystal Hohlt, and Ed and Kim Taylor, all of Vandalia. She is currently a teacher of the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
    The groom is the son of Alan and Janet Garner of Lone Tree, Colo. He is in the Air Force.
    The couple resides in Glendale, Ariz.

    Joe and Lorin Kirk of Vandalia are the parents of boy born at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.


    He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 20 inches long. He was named Joseph Maximilian.
    Grandparents are Fred and Vanessa Keck, and Mark and Molly Kirk, all of Vandalia.
    Great-grandparents are David and Veronica Keck, Dan and Linda Michel, and Janice and the late Joe Kirk.
