    Jerry and Karen Little of Hewitt, Texas, formerly of Vandalia, were surprised with a celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary on May 20 at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Vandalia.
    Fifty family members and friends were present for the celebration, which was organized by the couple’s children, Debbie Little Smith and David Little.
    The Littles were married on June 16, 1962, in Vandalia.

    A celebration with family, including dinner, will be held in Effingham at Lone Star Steakhouse.

    Carroll Wayne Beck and Ruth Ann Barnes were united in marriage on Sunday June 17, 1962, in the Herrick Christian Church. Dennis Corley officiated the double-ring ceremony.
    The maid of honor was Joyce (Brown) Nance, and Bob Barnes served as best man. The other attendants were Linda Kay (Austin) Bumgardner and Roger Henderson.
