    The St. Peter American Legion Auxiliary Unit #380 met at the Legion home at 7:30 p.m. on May 17, with 15 members present.
    President Patti Taylor called the meeting to order and proceeded with the opening rituals. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secretary, and also the treasurer’s report, since the Treasurer Arlene Lee was not present due to illness. Both reports were approved. A note from Lee was also read.

  • Cub Scout Pack 315 Day

    Mayor Rick Gottman signed a proclamation declaring Saturday, June 11, as Cub Scout Pack 315 Day in Vandalia.

    The proclamation recognizes the benefits of Cub Scouting and the work of volunteers in Scouting. Gottman is shown Cub Scout Pack Leader Roy Garrett and his sons, Boy Scout Dylan Garrett and Cub Scout Drew Garrett.

  • Children's Miracle Network Roadblock Day

    Mayor Rick Gottman has signed a proclamation declaring this Saturday as Children's Miracle Network Day in Vandalia.

    On Saturday, employees of Wal-Mart will lead the effort to collect donations for the Children's Miracle Network. Hospitals affiliated with the CMN serve pediatric accident victims and children with all types of afflictions. Shown with Gottman is Cheryl Pollard, the local CMN coordinator.

  • Exxon/Mobil Annuitants

    Twenty-four members and three guests traveled to Litchfield to the Chinatown Restaurant for the monthly ExxonMobil Annuitants luncheon and meeting on Thursday, April 28.
    Following the pledge to the flag, Brock Fisher gave the meal prayer.
    After the meal, President Dean Black, opened the meeting with a welcome to all present, especially those who had not attended for sometime due to various reasons.
    Guests present were Stacey Langston, and Kenneth and Angela Hagen. The secretary/treasurer report was given, and approved as read.
