    Hopper
    The annual Hopper family reunion will be held on Sunday, Sept. 4, at the North Loudon Townhouse, just north of Wright’s Corner, with a potluck dinner at noon.
    Those attending are asked to take a covered dish to share. Drinks and tableware will be provided.

    The Garrison family reunion was held on Sunday, Aug. 14, at the St. Elmo City Park, with 35 present.

    As our doggie population has decreased, the wild critter invasion has increased. Some of our past doggie friends were real guardians of the Homestead, always on the lookout for unwelcome varmints.

    A small, but feisty, little rooster has been venturing up our lane, which we believe is roving from his home roost in our neighbor’s chicken house.
    He begins his “bugging” early in the morning, not heading home until later that evening.

    Mahala Harpster, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., is spending a couple of weeks with her parents, Dane and Belinda Harpster of St. Peter. Mahala has finished her internship at Classic Equine in Fredicktown, Mo.
