    Attend Concert
    Warren, Lucretia, Adam, Erin and Wilbert Schroeder of St. Peter and Bonnie Clark of Shobonier attended the fall concert at Kaskaskia College on Oct. 4.
    Kent Clark, son of Warren and Lucretia, performed with the orchestra on the alto saxophone.
    Attend Tournament
    Belinda Harpster accompanied Stacey and Haley Bergmann to Peoria over the weekend to the 22nd annual Christ Lutheran Volleyball Tournament.
    There were 24 teams in the tournament, and the Lady Saints finished in fourth place.

  • 4-H, Walmart team up

    On Saturday, Oct. 22, young people in Fayette County will join employees from the Vandalia Walmart to celebrate the county 4-H program and encourage artistic expression.
    Walmart will host youth in the store from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. to learn more about the 4-H visual arts project.
    Young people will learn fun ways to decorate pumpkins for the fall season, and each youth will take home, at no cost, a pumpkin he or she decorated.
    Families can learn more about joining a local 4-H club from University of Illinois Extension Educator Judy Mae Bingman.

    Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman signed a proclamation declaring the second week of October as Illinois Association of Home and Community Education Week.
