    The annual Cole-Neucome reunion will be held at noon on Sunday, Sept. 4, with a basket lunch at Bingham townhouse.

    The “Roving Rooster”
    A small, but feisty, little rooster has been venturing up our lane, which we believe is roving from his home roost in our neighbor’s chicken house.
    He begins his “bugging” early in the morning, not heading home until later that evening.

    Mahala Harpster, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., is spending a couple of weeks with her parents, Dane and Belinda Harpster of St. Peter. Mahala has finished her internship at Classic Equine in Fredicktown, Mo.

    Dothager Reunion
    The annual Dothager reunion will be held on Sunday at the Pleasant Mound Community Center with a potluck dinner at 1 p.m.

    Lilly-Wright
    The Lilly-Wright family reunion will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, at the First Church of God SHED in St. Elmo with a potluck dinner at noon.
    Those attended are asked to take a favorite dish to share. Fried chicken, drinks and tableware will be provided.

    Officers for the coming year were installed at a recent meeting of Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 in Vandalia.

    From left to right are: Floyd Meseke, installing officer; John Blythe, commander; Brad Brannon, senior vice commander; Sam Stratman, junior vice commander; Christopher Irwin, adjutant; Lyle C. Edgar, finance officer; Robert Osborne, sergeant-at-arms; and Ron Robinson, chaplain. Blythe is encouraging all local veterans to join the American Legion.

    Five families were not represented – Leonard, Harry, Edmund, Arnold and Raymond Hoffman.
