“Lady,” the sweet little mini-horse and senior Homestead critter, and her barn buddy, “Buckwheat (Bucky) Burr,” are “snug as bugs in a rug,” as their conscientious and caring caretaker, namely Bill, cleaned their floors thoroughly, and filled their sleeping quarters with clean straw, covered their window with clear plexiglass, stopped up any drafty places and closes their door at night against any cold winds, rain, sleet or snow.

    Homestead Critter Talk …
… is varied on the Homestead, from early morning until night.
“Rooster Cogburn,” the little banty rooster, wakes everyone up around 5 or so in the morning with his wake-up crowing. The “girls,” Rhonda and Blackie (hens), talk to each other, clucking and cackling, and it almost sounds like singing sometimes.
