    Celebrate Anniversaries
    Keith and Michelle Perkins of Effingham celebrated their 25th anniversary the weekend of Nov. 16, and Keith’s parents, Kenneth and Juanita Perkins, also of Effingham, celebrated their 55th anniversary as well.
    They celebrated with a special Mass, then met with relatives at Ryan’s in Effingham for brunch. Michelle is the daughter of Duane and Betty Pontious of St. Peter.
    Birth
    Adam and Cassie Jahraus of Decatur are the parents of their first child, Audrey Kay, born on Nov. 15, 2013.

    Birth
    Casey and Ashley Feller of St. Elmo are the parents of a daughter, Nora Belle, born on Nov. 11, 2013.  She weighed 7½ pounds and was 22 inches long.
    Grandparents are Kirk and Brenda Feller of St. Elmo and Marlen and Annie Harnish of Altamont. Great-grandmother is Doris Strullmyer of St. Peter.
    Baptism
    Andrew Kannon Martin, son of Kenny and Shannon (Jenne) Martin, was baptized on Saturday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. His godparents are Lance Jenne and Carla Wells.

    … seem to weather all kinds of weather without concern. When the warning whistles were being sounded and the sky was looking ominous Sunday, we noticed the cows standing calmly, but grouped closely together, looking toward the west.
    Some of neighbor Scott’s cows were scattered about in their pasture, grazing, seemingly unconcerned about the weather.

    • An all-church Thanksgiving dinner is being hosted by the Vit-Em-In Sunday school class at 6 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The class will provide turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, beverages and table service; those attending are asked to take side dishes and desserts.

    Veterans Day Service
    St. Peter’s Lutheran School Children presented a special Veterans Day chapel service last Wednesday. Coffee, juice, and donuts were served prior to the service. The children sang special songs for the guests, and Jim Norman was a guest speaker.
    Turkey Supper
    The annual turkey supper sponsored by St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24, in the school gym. Serving will begin at 5 p.m.
