    Critter Corner
    From the (Productive) Chicken Roost
One of the two Homestead Hen, either Rhonda or Blackie, is now producing eggs. Both have bright red combs (a sign of laying eggs), but only one seems to be producing at present. The eggs are nice, large ones.
The girls seem happy and content in their modern, new home. When I came home and was unlocking my door, one of them was just singing and making little hen sounds so prettily.

    Critter Corner …
… can be more aptly called “Twitter Corner” this week. Spring is here, at least it is for the little wild birds, as they are filling the trees and the air with their songs the past few mornings.
Their songs are really encouraging me to take my morning coffee outside in the sunshine (note the word sunshine), and just enjoy the morning sunrise. The birdfeeder is not being emptied so much now, since the snow has melted, so nature is taking over and providing nourishment.
