    Just A Note …
… to our readers – Thanks for your patience and understanding during the recent weather, which curtailed events and visiting, and caused cancellations of meetings and other regularly scheduled events.
Also, thanks for concern when I was hit by a “bug” last week, which caused severe dizziness and other unpleasant symptoms.
We sincerely hope you all stay well, warm and safe. Spring can’t be far away.

    Critter Corner
The Homestead bird feeder has been visited regularly by our little feathered friends, the snowbirds.
We also suspect a woods critter coming by, as twice we have found the “bowl” part of the feeder overturned, as if furry paws may have hung on to the edge of it.
We don’t suspect squirrels, as we have not seen any of them at this location, the north end of the lane, and also, the bird feeder bowl is pretty heavy to be tilted over by a little squirrel. We suspect a raccoon or an opossum.

However, some warmer weather is predicted and spring is just around the corner.

    Snow!
St. Peter has practically shut down this week due to the weather. The Sunday church service was even cancelled!  My husband has been diligently plowing roads.
It is imperative in times such as these that we do not travel unless it is an extreme emergency.
Snowplows and other road personnel cannot do their jobs if vehicles are in their paths. Please remember your outside pets – if you’re cold, so are they!
    Card Shower
A card shower has been requested for the 84th birthday of Lois Meyer on Jan. 16.

And the Rest of the Story
While having lunch at Mark’s this week, we saw Charlie and Kathy Depew, and Charlie told us an endearing story about his wife, Kathy (who is a very lovely, kind, compassionate and intelligent lady!)
