  • ExxonMobil Annuitants

    The ExxonMobil Annuitants Club met on June 26 at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Vandalia.
    Twenty-one members and four guests were present. President Dean Black welcomed all members and guests, followed by the pledge of allegiance. Black gave the blessing.
    The secretary and treasurer reports were read and approved.
    Birthdays and anniversaries for June were read.
    Health updates were given and members signed two cards for members who are ill.
    The Deeds Awards were handed out to members who had 50 hours or more of volunteer time for the 2013 club year.

    Attend Birthday Party
    Dane and Belinda Harpster of St. Peter, traveled to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to attend the seventh birthday party of grandson Dru Eller on Saturday.
    They spent the weekend at the home of Mitch, Gretchen, Owen and Aaron Harpster of Cape Girardeau.
    Mahala Jacquin of Villa Ridge, Mo., also joined them.  
    Visits Parents
    Keri, Elijah, and Emma Latin of Chase, Mich., spent the weekend with her parents, Larry and Sue Urban of St. Peter.

    Critters Tolerating Heat Well
    The last few days have been hot and steamy, but all of the critters seem to be doing fine. The outside ones (Katie, the doggie and Betsy and her Long Horn family) don’t seem to be acting any different. They are hitting the waterin’ hole (tank) fairly often, but we keep the water flowing in the tank regularly, so, no problem.
    The Longhorns still have the energy to run and stampede across the pasture to the fence to watch the garbage truck on the Friday morning pickups every month.

    Dane and Belinda Harpster of St. Peter spent the weekend with their daughter, Mahala Jacquin of Villa Ridge, Mo.
    Return from China
    Jason and Courtney Gladson of Nashville have returned home from China with their daughter, Mabry.
    The Gladsons have two sons, Connor and Grady.  Courtney is formerly from St. Peter.

    The Shobonier School Reunion was held on Sunday June 8, at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Vandalia, with 20 attending.
    Everyone had a good time visiting and catching up on old memories.
