    Bunny Population Growing
Since Bill’s little baby bunny friend started hanging around the chicken pen area, we have seen other apparent members of his family.
Note: Although our first thought was to name  him “Thumper,” we’ve decided a more appropriate name for him would be “Buddy,” as he doesn’t seem to be afraid of Bill, but lets him get within 3 feet before he moves away.

“Missouri Pete” Eating, Doing Good …
… but we think he is missing his buddy and pal, “Joe.”
Pete is very sociable – he wags his tail and jumps around when he sees us, comes to the car for petting when we are leaving or returning, does not bark or “whine.” He is the perfect doggie guest, but where are times when he just seems to be looking a little lonely.

    Back Porch Residency Growing
The mother robin seems to have “opened the door” for other mother birds looking for a safe location in which to hatch and raise their babies – the Homestead back porch (or deck, as Bill refers to it. To me, a deck with a roof is a porch.)

    Small Tornado in St. Peter
On Saturday evening, a small tornado touched down on the outskirts of St. Peter. It caused some severe damage to a shed at the home of Herschel Ambuehl. Fortunately, no one was injured. Power lines were down, causing a town-wide power outage for the rest of the night, and most of the day on Sunday. The town was at a standstill, even cancelling church! Some roads were flooded and even closed as of Monday morning
