Talking About The Weather & the Critters …
…or  he reaction of the critters – usually when inclement weather is coming, or taking place, the Longhorn Cowgirls, do not pay much attention to it. It seems their breed prefers the wide-open spaces, rather than the protection of a building.

    Cogburn Rooster Doing Well
In answer to inquiries, Cogburn seems to be gaining a fan club, as several readers have asked about him. He continues to try to wake us up every morning and, strangely, he crows to greet us when we drive into the driveway, no matter the time of day.
We have been spotting a lone chicken hawk hanging about the Homestead. It was sitting atop the pole light one day, but flew away when we drove up.
