S.O.S. – Baby Bucky Burro Kicking Up His Heels
Buckwheat the little burro has enjoyed taking his naps in the sunshine, but he really demonstrated Sunday how much he enjoyed the sunshine and spring weather by putting on a show for us. It was really cute how he showed off.
He can see our back door from his barn door, and he often sticks his head out in the early mornings to watch for us to emerge.
He also listens for the door to open and when he hears the latch, looks out and is out of his barn by the time we are out of the door.

    Chicken Roost News
Cogburn Rooster is really puffing out his chest as he crows and is strutting around with a definite swagger, apparently proud of his girls, Blackie and Rhonda, as they are depositing two eggs a day in their nest now. So, we may have to get an egg crate to take them to market. They might be getting in a supply for Easter eggs.

Katie, the Doggie, Plays a Trick …
…on Bill. During the really cold weather, Bill brings Katie, the lab/blue heeler mix into the house at night. He puts her leash on her to bring her to the house, because we are afraid that she will run toward the highway. We lived at the south end of the lane in the woods when she came to us as a little puppy, and we have been careful with her here, because she isn’t used to the highway.
When he went out to get her one evening last week, it was already dark.

Although the Past Few Days …
… have been warmer, on Tuesday morning, Little Bucky Burro was staying in his barn because, like his predecessor, the late, adorable little Smoky, the donkey, Bucky doesn’t like to get his pretty ears wet in the needed rain that was falling gently and soaking in the ground nicely.  Although Bucky obviously doesn’t appreciate the showers, we human inhabitants do.
