    New Coats for Barn Critters
Baby Bucky Burro, his mama, Madricka, and Lady, the senior mini-horse, are wearing their new winter coats. Lady’s coat is particularly pretty, as she chose a little different color that becomes her. Usually it is sort of a dapple gray, but the dominant color is a shade or two darker this year, and Bill describes it as looking rather like an Appaloosa now.
Madricka just looks lovely, as always, and baby Buckwheat looks cute and cuddly with his fuzzy new coat.

    Critters Having Company
The past few days, two of the “neighbor kids” from the longhorn pasture across the way have been visiting the Homestead bunch and enjoying nibbling on the green grass.
The other barnyard critters, Madricka, and her baby burro, Buckwheat, and  Lady, the pretty senior mini-horse, watch the strangers, but they do not let the visitors interrupt their meals or their naps in the sunshine.
