Younger people must help our senior citizens

Editor:
I am writing to encourage people to help seniors more in Fayette County.
Most of the seniors are very polite and knowledgeable. The are part of what Tom Brokaw called “The Greatest Generation” because they lived through the Great Depression and World War II.
They all have something to offer. They can give good advice.
But most feel lonely and in despair – especially around the holidays.
Be helpful and polite when you see a senior citizen, because they have given this great country so much. They deserve our honor and respect.
I travel around Fayette County quite a bit. Recently, I ran into a local pharmacist working patiently with seniors. It really made me proud to see younger people working with seniors.
Give a senior a hand when you can.
