Wedding

Claralyn Kay Luchtefeld and Jonathan Tyler Denton, both of Vandalia, were united in married in a 4 p.m. ceremony on Nov. 11, 2011, at St. Elmo Christian Church in St. Elmo, with the Rev. Tom Fedrigon officiating.
The bride is the daughter of LaQuita (Haslett) and Kelly Booher, and the late Frank Luchtefeld and his wife Lisa. She is the granddaughter of Keith and Margaret Haslett of St. Elmo, Shirley Feree of Scottsdale, Ariz., and the late V.R. “Lucky” Luchtefeld.
She was given in marrage by her stepfather, Kelly Booher.
She wore an ivory and champagne gown with a princess A-line silhouette and a sweetheart neckline. The bust was adorned with pearl and crystal beads, and a ribbon detail. A semi-cathedral train was decorated with beaded embroidery along the hem. The bride wore an elbow-length ivory veil with beaded embellishments and a rhinestone headband. The bouquet was various shades of pink with green accents, and included Austin and garden roses, carnations, Kermit mums and hypercum berries.
Chris Jennings of St. Elmo, a friend of the bride, served as her best man. He wore a gray, two-button tuxedo with a charcoal vest and paisley tie.
Bridesmaids were: Briana McMillan of St. Elmo, a friend of the bride; Jaide Wells of St. Elmo, a cousin and friend of the bride; and Amy Gaffney of Vandalia, a friend of the bride. They wore pink chiffon gowns with sweetheart necklines and A-line silhouettes. Chiffon and crystal flower details decorated the busts.
Keith Booher, a brother of the bride, and Addison Young, a niece of the groom, served as guestbook attendants.
The groom is the son of Julie and Roger Myers of Effingham, and Merle and Amy Denton of Brownstown. He is the grandson of Donald and Velma Denton of Ramsey.
He chose Andrew Sarver of Shiloh as his best man.
Groomsmen were Matt Henna of Vandalia, Levi Thompson of Patoka, Larrey Gale of Vandalia, Ryan Smith of Carlinville and Micha Williams, all friends of the groom.
Ushers were Brandon Wells of Vandalia, a cousin and friend of the groom, and Matt Donaldson of Quincy, a friend of the groom.
A reception at the Thelma Keller Convention Center in Effingham followed the ceremony, and the couple honeymooned in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
They now reside in Vandalia.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of St. Elmo High School, she earned a certificate in practical nursing from Kaskaskia College in 2009 and is working on a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana State University.
She is currently working as a licensed practical nurse at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation in Effingham.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of Vandalia Community High School, graduated from Kaskaskia College in 2007 and is currently studying mass communications at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
He is currently employed as a sales associate at Sears in Vandalia.
