Roberts – Ash

Lauren Marie Roberts of Vandalia and Allen Courtney Ash of Liberty, Mo. were united in marriage on Saturday evening, July 10, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in St Louis, with Msgr. Mark Rivituso officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ken and Kathy Roberts of Vandalia. Grandparents are Edward and Margaret Earth of Mulberry Grove,  and Dean and Pat Roberts of Vandalia.
The groom is the son of Bev Ash of Carterville, Mo., and Gregg Ash of Kearney, Mo.
The bride wore an ivory gown by Maggie Sottero and the bridesmaids wore latte colored dresses by Moonlight designs. Flowers were wine colored peonies, calla lilies and roses featured by Scott Hepper.
She chose her sister, Tiffany Roberts de la Cruz of Champaign, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Friederich of Webster Groves, Mo.; Laura Devlin of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; Keri Henry of Vandalia; Aleah Fulton Likas of Shrewsbury, Mo.; and Jennifer Riney of Arnold, Mo.
The groom chose John West of Pensacola, Fla., as his best man. Groomsmen were Tommy Durden of Kansas City, Mo.; Josh Alinger of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; Travis Prestidge of St. Louis; Mike Wilson of River Ridge, La.; and Chad Zipfel of St. Peters, Mo.
Jordan de la Cruz, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer and Mya de la Cruz, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.
Bobby Armstrong of O’Fallon, Mo., and Dan Friederich of Webster Groves, Mo., served as ushers.
Blythe Smith of Vandalia, cousin of the bride, was program attendant and Emily Barth of Highland, cousin of the bride, was guest book attendant.
Music during the ceremony were pianist Sue Martin, cellist Ken Kulosa and vocalist Zach Edgar.
Readers during the ceremony were Nancy Barth of Highland, aunt of the bride, and Paula Edgar of Vandalia, godmother of the bride.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at Lumen.
Stations of food featured: “Mediterranean Cuisine,” “local farmer’s market” items, comfort foods, seafood and handmade assorted chocolates.
The band “Boom” provided live music and dance for the evening. Lauren sang “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson, as a surprise to Allen.
Lauren and Allen are both 2008 graduates of St Louis College of Pharmacy, receiving their doctor of pharmacy degrees.
Lauren received her board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist certification in 2009. She is employed at St. Louis College of Pharmacy and the Veterans Hospital. Allen is employed at Target pharmacies.
The couple enjoyed a 12-day Mediterranean cruise, seeing sites in Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Turkey.
They currently reside in downtown St Louis.
