The Patoka baseball team has proven it can blow opponents out.
But on Tuesday, the Warriors showed they can win the tight ones as well.
After cruising to victory in their previous three games via the 10-run mercy rule, the Warriors pulled out a thriller against St. Elmo, as Cody Wimberly's two-out RBI single in the bottom of the seventh gave Patoka a 4-3 victory.
Wimberly's big hit came moments after Luke Murfin worked a bases-loaded walk on the eighth delivery he saw against reliever Colton Booher, forcing in the game-tying run.
