VYO teams perfect in make-up games

Though scheduled games for the VYO football teams ended last week, there was still one more set of games to play – make-ups from Sept. 18 at East Alton-Wood River.

And Vandalia sure made the extra date counted.

The Vandalia fifth-graders won the conference championship after a 22-6 victory at East Alton-Wood River on Saturday.

In addition, the sixth-graders won, 62-6; the seventh-graders won, 50-38; and the eighth-graders won, 58-6.

Final records for each team are:
•Fifth-grade: 7-1
•Sixth-grade: 6-2
•Seventh-grade: 4-4
•Eighth-grade: 7-1
