No. 7 Altamont outscored top-seeded Flora, 30-17, in the middle two quarters to come away with a win in the third-place game on Saturday.
Derek Jahraus led three Indian scorers in double-figures with 15 points, which helped counteract a double-double from Flora’s Ethan Leib, who had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bulldogs led 52-19 after three quarters, and were led by all-tournament selection Jacob Schuette, who scored 26 points. His tournament total of 108 points ranks 17th all-time in the VHT.

The teams traded blows in the first half, with Flora holding a one-point edge at halftime, before the Panthers used a 33-20 run over the final 16 minutes to claim the win.

Altamont’s Cole Borders hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer last Friday to send Shelbyville to the seventh-place game in a 48-45 win for the seventh-seeded Indians.
It was Borders’ only made shot of the game.
With the loss, No. 6 Shelbyville was relegated to play for seventh, despite a 2-2 mark in pool play and a win against second-place finisher Vandalia.
Garrett Ziegler scored 17 points for Altamont, and all-tournament selection Brody Bence had a game-high 18 for the Rams, including 10 made free throws.
