The auction generated a little more than $5,000, with the funds to be used for teacher grants that are used to extend learning beyond the classroom. "We are trying to grow the foundation so that we can meet the increasing needs of the schools as Illinois reduces its funding for schools," said Sharon LaDage of the VCSF. "We hope to provide the supplemental areas of learning exposure that have to be put aside and can't be funded regularly. We continue to believe the kids are our future and all monies will be directed to our students," LaDage said.
