VCHS student council helping Texas grade school

In response to the devastation caused in Texas by Hurricane Harvey, the Vandalia Community High School student council has adopted an elementary school in Texas.
The student council will be accepting donations for students in pre-K through fifth grade at Southside Elementary School in Angleton, Texas.
Donations appropriate for ages 5-11 are being accepted at the high school through next Friday and also at the varsity football Pink Bowl game with Greenville this Friday night.
Items that are most needed include:
• Backpacks
• Lunch boxes/bags
• Pencils
• Folders
• Binders
• Crayons and coloring books
• Paper
• New/ unopened socks and underwear
Also needed are:
• Jackets
• Mittens and sock hats/beanies
• Combs/brushes/ toothbrushes
• Kids’ books
• Stuffed animals
Cash donations will also be accepted.
