Christian Schroeder, center, received a four-year scholarship from the U.S. Marines. He will be attending the University of Illinois, studying engineering.

The English department awards were presented by the teachers, at left, Jamie Michel, Hope Nottmeyer and Melissa Dreas, as well as Mike Travelstead and Brenna Correll, at right. Recipients in the front row, from left, were: Makayla Summers (English 3), Amanda Jourdan (Honors English 3), Jessica Sullens (English 1), Megan Godoyo (English 2) and Alexandria Henna (Honors English 4). Recipients in the back row, from left, were: Jonathon Hobler (English 4), David Zimmerman (Honors English 2), Johanna Walton (Honors English 1) and Zachary Ehrat (The Mike Travelstead ‘Thinking Outside the Box’ Award).

Zachary Ehrat received a scholarship from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
