CHAMPAIGN - The Vandals struggled offensively in dropping all four preliminary bouts at the individual state wrestling tournament.
Battling at Assembly Hall on the campus of the University of Illinois on Thursday, none of the Vandals who qualified for the event were able to come away with a victory, and only one of them ever had a lead.
Now, all four will watch as their opponents battle in the championship quarterfinals on Friday at 8:30 a.m., because if their opponent wins in that round, they will be placed in the consolation bracket, which begins at 1 p.m. on Friday.
