Vandalia senior quarterback Tim Ritchey was taken from the game by ambulance, C.J. Runkel returned to the sidelines on crutches and the Vandals lost to Greenville, 28-12, on Friday night.
Ritchey, who was injured on a late hit from Greenville's Brandon Duncan for the second straight season, was flown out of Vandalia after the game, and reportedly suffered a T1 and T2 fracture and will be in a neck brace for the next two weeks.
Runkel was lost in the first half after suffering a knee injury, which is believed to be a torn ACL.
