The Vandals ended a losing skid with a win at Marquette Catholic on Monday.
The Vandals beat the Explorers, 6-4, despite just two base hits.
Juniors Ian Murrell and Dathan Berning both had singles, and junior Trevor Montgomery scored twice during the game.
Vandalia struck out 14 times during the game, but were able to take advantage of three walks and three Marquette errors.
Murrell earned the win for the Vandals, striking out six, while allowing just three hits, one walk and no earned runs over seven innings.
On Friday, the Vandals played an unconventional doubleheader, facing Litchfield at 4 p.m. and then Pana at the conclusion of Game 1.
In the opener, solo home runs by Montgomery and sophomore Leyton Godoyo gave the Vandals a brief 2-1 lead after the second inning.
Litchfield would tie the game in the third, however, and score three more runs in the fifth to make the final tally, 5-2.
Montgomery took the loss, after allowing five runs in five innings, while striking out two batters.
Against Pana, the Vandals lost, 2-0.
Godoyo was 3-for-3 for Vandalia, and Murrell struck out 12, but one run in each of the second and third innings gave the Panthers a win.
The Vandals did not commit an error and only struck out once in the game.
Last Wednesday, the Vandals lost to Hillsboro, 7-2.
Godoyo drove in Vandalia's runs and tied the game with a triple in the fourth inning, but the Hilltoppers added five runs in the fifth to secure the win.
Junior Nick Metzger took the loss, striking out six and allowing eight hits over six innings. Only one run allowed was earned.
The Vandals faced Southwestern on Wednesday and host Roxana on Thursday to close the conference season.
