The Vandalia volleyball tournament will close out its second decade of existence on Saturday.

The 20th annual event will began at 8 a.m., with pool play at Vandalia High School and Vandalia Junior High, and two teams from Fayette County will be in action.

Vandalia – the defending champions – and South Central – last season’s runner-up – each have new-look teams and will be playing in Pool A at the high school.

The county clash will be the opening game of the tournament. When the teams battled in the third-place match at the Altamont Tournament, Vandalia took a 27-25, 25-23 victory.

Vandalia follows with a match against East Alton-Wood River at 10 a.m. and Lebanon at 1 p.m.
South Central will face Lebanon at 11 a.m. and EAWR at noon.

In Pool B, Greenville, Staunton, Carlyle and Beecher City will battle at the junior high.

Doors open for fans at 7:30 p.m. All-day admission for both gyms is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
