Vandalia soccer team picks up first win

The Vandalia soccer team picked up its first victory of the season last Thursday, defeating Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran, 4-0.

Lucas McDowell, Matt Grove, Matt Hubbart and Steven Daley all scored goals for the Vandals, with McDowell also picking up two assists.

Vandalia and Centralia played to a 2-2 draw earlier this season.

On Tuesday, the Vandals were defeated by Gillespie, 3-1.

Hubbart scored the Vandals' lone goal in the game. He was assisted by McDowell.

Patrick Bauer had nine saves in the match.
