Several area junior high seventh-grade girls basketball teams recently competed in regional tournaments.
Vandalia
Second-seeded Vandalia defeated No. 6 Brownstown, 34-16, on Monday in the second round of the No. 13 Class 7-3A Regional Tournament at Greenville.
The Vandals faced Central A&M for the regional title on Tuesday, but that game was not completed at press time.
The results for that game will be posted on The Leader-Union’s website at www.leaderunion.com on Wednesday.

Sixth-seeded Brownstown upset Greenville, 26-19, on Saturday in the first round of the No. 13 7-3A Regional Tournament at Greenville.
The Bombers lost to No. 2 Vandalia, 34-16, on Monday.
Mulberry Grove
Fourth-seeded Mulberry Grove beat fifth-seeded East St. Louis-Jackson, 21-6, on Saturday in the first round of the No. 14 Class 7-1A Regional Tournament at East St. Louis-Jackson.
Later in the day, Mulberry Grove was ousted by top-seeded Pocahontas, 50-29.
Ramsey
Third-seeded Ramsey lost to No. 4 Stew-Stras, 47-14, on Saturday in the first round of the No. 14 Class 7-2A Regional Tournament at Findlay Okaw Valley.
