Vandalia Pool opens May 31

The Vandalia Public Swimming Pool will open on Friday, May 31
The pool hours will be: Sunday-Friday, 1-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.; and Saturdays, 1-5 p.m. only. Private Parties are held from 6-8 p.m.
Wednesday mornings, from June 12-Aug. 7, are free from 9-11 a.m.
Admission is $4.00 for everyone over the age of 4; those 4 and under are free.
Those who pay to swim from 1-5 p.m. may swim for free from 6-8 p.m. by getting their hand stamped before they leave in the afternoon.
Season Passes are:
• Single pass: In Vandalia Park District: $150; and out of district: $200.00
• Family of six or fewer: In Vandalia Park District: $300; out of district: $350.
• Families of more than six: an additional $50 per person.
Lifeguard training will be held June 10-21 with a pre-test on June 8 at 10 a.m.
The class meets from 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday. Students must attend all classes.
The cost of the class is $225, and it covers a class book, pocket mask, first aid fanny pack, whistle, first aid training and CPR/AED training.

A lifeguard review course will be held for those guards who need to update their certification. The class will meet from 9 a.m.-noon from Monday-Friday, June 24-28. Contact Robbins before June 18.
Swimming lessons will be July 1-26 (four weeks on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday), from 10-11 a.m. and 11 a.m.-noon.
The cost for this class is $48. Families with three children or more will pay $120 maximum.
Registration begins June 3 and ends June 22 or until classes are full. Students must pay and register at the pool.
Adult swim lessons are offered July 9-Aug. 1 on Tuesday and Thursdays, from 5-6 p.m. The cost is $75. The class is for ages 14 and over. The registration is June 18-July 5.
A parent-tot swim class for ages 6 months-3 years old will be held July 22-Aug. 2.
The class will meet Monday-Friday, from noon-12:30 p.m. The fee is $25.
Registration will run from June 24-July 13. There must be at least six students to hold this class.
The first Moonlight Madness will be June 21. Hours will be 6-11:30 p.m. Admission is $6.00 for everyone over the age of 4; 4 and under are free.
The July Moonlight Madness will be on July 19. The August one will be held Aug. 9, a “Back-to-School Bash.”
Private parties can be scheduled on Saturday evenings from 6-8 p.m. There is a $25 non-refundable deposit. Parties are $175.
