Vandalia Police Report

July 9
• 12:12 a.m.-Officers responded to the 1000 block of West Johnson Street for a report of two people fighting. The individuals agreed to stay away from each other for the rest of the night.
• 1:31 a.m.-Officers received a complaint of a disturbance at an abandoned residence on West Edwards Street. Officers were unable to locate anyone at that residence, but they did discover several items that are known to be used to manufacture methamphetamine; those items were seized as evidence.
• 8:35 a.m.-Officers took a report of damage and vandalism at Twisters on Veterans Avenue.
• 9:38 a.m.-Officers took a report of false complaints.
• 11:11 a.m.-Officers responded to the 900 block of West Edwards Street for a report of two windows being shot with a BB gun.
• 11:18 a.m.-Officers handled a complaint about a solicitor in the 2700 block of West Jefferson Street.
• 12:45 p.m.-Officers responded to the 200 block of West Jefferson Street for a report of a domestic disturbance.
• 12:56 p.m.-Officers handled a two-car accident on the parking lot of Taco Bell/KFC on Veterans Avenue.
• 12:56 p.m.-Officers took a report on a busted car window on the parking lot of All Steel on Janett Avenue.
• 1:17 p.m.-Officers received a report of harassment on the parking lot of First National Bank.
• 2:06 p.m.-Officers handled a domestic dispute in the 1000 block of West Tower Street.
• 6:29 p.m.-Officers handed a complaint about a solicitor at Fifth and Orchard streets.
• 7:38 p.m.-Officers handled a report of a one-vehicle accident in the 2200 block of West Jefferson Street. Timothy R. White, 20, 810B Washington St., Vandalia, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
• The department issued a ticket for failure to obtain a permit to solicit; a ticket for improper lane usage; and a ticket for failure to yield. They also issued a written warning for failure to wear eye equipment.
July 8
• 8:40 a.m.-Officers handled a complaint of fraud.
• 10:34 a.m.-An officer responded to a complaint of a dog running loose in the 1000 block of West Tower Street. Brenna K. Summers, 36, of Vandalia, was issued an ordinance violation ticket for allowing a dog to run at-large.
• 6:07 p.m.-Officers responded to a request to have a person removed form the ballfield on Fletcher Street.
• 7:22 p.m.-Officers responded to a complaint of females fighting in the parking lot of Lorenzo's, Gallatin Street and Kennedy Boulevard. Kelli C. Shelton, 27, and Vanessa L. Martin, 28, both of Vandalia, were ticketed for fighting in public.
• 8:15 p.m.-Officers took a complaint of theft of mislaid property at Walmart.
• 9:14 p.m.-Officers took a complaint of phone harassment on Willow Street.
