Monday, Jan. 22
• James Atwood, 24, of Brownstown, was issued city ordinance citations for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• A 15-year-old youth was issued a city ordinance citations for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sunday, Jan. 21
• 12:54 a.m. – Officers responded to the 400 block of West Randolph Street for a report of a domestic problem. The situation was resolved without incident.
• 1:07 a.m. – Alexander B. Campbell, 24, of Vandalia, was arrested on a Fayette County warrant.
• 1:46 a.m. – An officer took a complaint of a domestic dispute that had occurred earlier in the evening.
• 10:34 a.m. – An officer took a report of assault and battery in the 900 block of West Tower Street.
• 10:37 a.m. – In the parking lot of Vandalia Correctional Center, Riva J. Byrd, 21, of Peoria, was issued a city ordinance citation for possession of cannabis.
• Officers responded to eight calls for citizen/motorist assist.
Saturday, Jan. 20
• 9:19 a.m. – An officer took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 500 block of North Second Street.
• 9:54 a.m. – An officer took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 100 block of East Washington Street.
• 9:58 a.m. – An officer took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 300 block of North Kennedy Boulevard.
• 11:24 a.m. – A juvenile was arrested on a Fayette County warrant.
• 1:18 p.m. – Officers responded to the Redwood Inn for a report of a disorderly person. Officers found that person and gave him a ride home.
• 3:59 p.m. – An officer took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 600 block of West Washington Street.
• 4:02 p.m. – An officer responded to a burglar alarm at FAYCO Enterprises on Sunset Drive. It was a false alarm and the building was secure.
• 7:09 p.m. – An officer responded to the parking lot of Walmart for a report of a two-vehicle report. No report was deemed necessary, as damage to both vehicles was minimal.
• 8:29 p.m. – Clinton H. Walker, 46, of Vandalia, was arrested on the 2700 block of West Jefferson Street on a Fayette County warrant.
• 11:01 p.m. – An officer responded to the 100 block of South Elm Street for a report of a loud music complaint. The people with the loud music were advised to keep it down for the evening.
• Officers responded to 10 calls for citizen/motorist assist.
Friday, Jan. 19
• 6:34 a.m. – An officer took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Tower Street.
• 8:22 a.m. – An officer took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 600 block of Cypress Street.
• 10:58 a.m. – An officer took a report of deceptive practices at McDonald’s on Veterans Avenue.
• 11:17 a.m. – Police were called to the 700 block of West Randolph Street for a complaint of a disorderly person yelling. An officer located that person, and the situation was resolved.
• 1:22 p.m. – Officers were called to the intersection of Main and Coles streets for a report of a two-vehicle accident. According to police, a vehicle driven by Diana D. Dooley, 81, of Vandalia, struck another vehicle, causing that vehicle to slide across the roadway and strike a building. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
• 5:44 p.m. – Police received a report of harassment via social media.
• 6:07 p.m. – Police received a report of theft from a vehicle in the 600 block of South Sixth Street.
• 6:47 p.m. – Erik M. Klein, 31, of Vandalia, was arrested in the area of Sixth and Fillmore streets on two Bond County warrants.
• 7:13 p.m. – Police received a report of theft from a vehicle in the area of Pine and Johnson streets.
• 8:43 p.m. – Police were called to Fayette County Hospital for a report of a disorderly person in the emergency room. The situation was resolved.
• 10:27 p.m. – Police received a report of theft from a vehicle in the 500 block of North First Street.
• 10:46 p.m. – Police responded to an alarm at Vandalia Country & Golf Club. The building was secure.
• 11:21 p.m. – Police received a report of theft from a vehicle in the 200 block of North Second Street.
Thursday, Jan. 18
• 8:26 a.m. – Police received a report of an accident at Fletcher and Eighth streets. According to police, a vehicle driven by Kayla Matthews, 30, of Vandalia, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Amanda Turner, 39, of Vandalia. Turner was transported by ambulance to Fayette County Hospital. Matthews was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Wednesday, Jan. 17
• Adam Shafter, 30, of Vandalia, was arrested on a charge of pedestrian under the influence.
• Police received a report of theft from a motor vehicle in the 200 block of South Third Street.
