Vandalia eighth-grade girls 16-1, Patoka JH boys still perfect

Two local junior high basketball teams remain on good starts this season.

The Vandalia eighth-grade girls lost their first game of the season on Tuesday against Hillsboro, 25-23. The loss moves the team's record to 16-1.

Meanwhile, last Thursday the Patoka Junior High boys team beat Sandoval, 52-44, to move its record to 6-0.

In that game, Shane and Jered Cain each had 16 points, Dylan Back had 13 points, and Garrett Belcher had seven points.
