A pair of local junior high boys basketball teams have advanced in two different state tournaments.
The Patoka Junior High team won in the first round of the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association Class S tournament, but lost to Pinckneyville, 60-54, on Monday night in semifinals.
Jered Cain had 31 points in the game.
Patoka closes the season at 22-5.
In Saturday’s first round, the Jr. Mohawks defeated Breese All Saints Academy, 54-41.
