The Vandalia girls track team opened its season on Saturday at the Charleston Indoor Invitational, and three athletes placed in the top 10.
Senior Sierah Ruffner took eighth in the high jump, with a leap of 4 feet, 10 inches, and freshman Karlie Bright set a school record with 7 feet, 6 inches in the pole vault to place eighth.
Iris Daiber, a junior, finished ninth in the long jump, with 15 feet, 5¾ inches.
