A game after scoring his 1,000th career point, South Central Fischer Tharp nearly added another milestone to his list of accomplishment.
Scoring 41 points in a 62-51 win against Odin last Friday, Tharp was just one point short of the school record for single-game scoring. That record was set by Spencer Patton in the 2006 Vandalia Regional Tournament.
Tharp’s career-high in scoring is the highest single-game total for an area player so far this season. Brownstown senior Matt Sefton set this year’s standard with 31 points in the season-opener.
