Monday is Veterans Day. It’s a day we set aside each year to honor those who have served our country through their participation in our military.
Originally known as Armistice Day when it was begun in 1918, it was established to commemorate the end of World War I. It was celebrated at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. The name was changed to Veterans Day in 1954, with the intention that it would be a day to honor all who have served in the armed forces to defend our country.
