Ward and Norma Sussenbach of Greenville will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2-4:30 p.m. on Sunday in the multipurpose room at Greenville Free Methodist Church.
Ward Sussenbach and Norma Vought were married on May 24, 1969, at Bethany Free Methodist Church in Melrose Park, with the Rev. Philip Ward officiating.
Their attendants were Naomi Vought and Lois Amdall, sisters of the bride; and Ken Householder, brother-in-law of the groom, and Don Eggleston, college friend of the groom. Bill Donnell and Dr. John Dawdy served as ushers.
Ward grew up in Greenville, and Norma grew up in Northwestern Wisconsin. They met at Greenville College and then again through church in Melrose Park.
Norma is a registered nurse, and Ward has spent 10 years in public school teaching and 18 years as a college adjunct instructor in speech communication.
They have spent 36 years in pastoral ministry, 15 years of those years at Parkview Free Methodist Church in Vandalia, and are currently serving the Mt. Gilead Cumberland Presbyterian Church west of Greenville.
They are enjoying their retirement in their home in Greenville.
The Sussenbachs have three children: Julie and her husband Matthew Mann of Mt. Carmel, Jill and her husband Shawn Cox of Greenville, and Jeffrey Sussenbach and his wife Michelle of Greenville. They have 15 grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to the reception on Sunday.
