It promises to be hog heaven for rummage sale fans.
This Saturday's rummage sale, which will line several blocks of Gallatin Street with treasures of all descriptions, will feature dozens of vendors – all within easy walking distance.
Sponsored by the Downtown Vandalia Merchants Co-op, the event will be one of the first major events sponsored by the newly formed downtown merchants group. It's designed to attract people to downtown by offering a variety of shopping experiences – both on the street and inside the stores. Look for good deals in both places!
For those wanting to take part in the event as a vendor, a 12-foot space may be reserved by calling Joanna Helm at 283-1432, Rich Jenkins at 283-3481, Gloria Durbin at 283-4804 or Donelle Conway at 283-1810. Spaces are $10 each.
More than 30 spaces have already been reserved.
The sale starts bright and early – at 7 a.m. – and runs until noon (although some vendors have plans to stay until 3 p.m.).
So if you're looking for super bargains on some real treasures, downtown Vandalia is the place to be this Saturday.
