After announcing at Tuesday’s meeting of the Vandalia Board of Education that the school district experienced deficit spending of about $750,000 during the just-completed 2012-2013 fiscal year, Superintendent Rich Well said that the gloves are coming off.
“I have five years left of being superintendent,” he said. “No longer will I sit around and let somebody else beat the drum for educational issues.
"We’re at the mercy of Springfield and Washington, D.C.”
