C-Bar Rodeo holding Capitol show

Farina-based C-Bar Rodeo Co. is hosting the second annual Clash at the Capitol rodeo at the coliseum on the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield on April 11 and 12.

Featured at the event is championship bull riding and barrel racing, with the event to begin at 7 p.m. each night.

Trick and roman rider Dusti Lynn Crain, a St. Peter native who performs at the Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., will be participating at the Springfield event.

One-night tickets will be $15 for adults, $6 for ages 6-13 and free for those under 5. Weekend passes for both days are $25 for adults and $10 for ages 6-13.

Altamont league seeking teams

The Altamont men’s softball league is seeking teams for its summer wooden bat league.

Games will start at the beginning of June and will continue through early August.

College club baseball game canceled

A college baseball game was scheduled to be played at Vandalia Mutual Field on Sunday, but it was canceled on Wednesday morning.

Club teams from St. Louis University and Murray State University were to meet in a doubleheader.

NWTF banquet is on Friday night

The 20th annual Hunting Heritage Super Fund dinner banquet will be hosted by the Okaw Valley Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation on Friday at the Moose Lodge in Vandalia.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., the banquet raises funds for the wild turkey conservation, and the cost to attend is $45 for individuals or $55 for couples.

The cost of admission includes a subscription to “Turkey Country,” the NWTF’s full-color publication, and attendees may also choose to become sponsor members.

The cost is $255 for individuals and $265 for couples, and includes the sponsor gift and a subscription to “Turkey Country.”
