Second-seeded South Central held an early lead in the championship game of the Midland Trail Conference Tournament on Friday, but top-seeded North Clay scored a combined nine runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to put away the Cougars, 11-7.

Derek Hermeier pitched a complete game for South Central, striking out nine batters. Only six of the 11 runs he allowed were earned, due in large part to South Central's seven errors.
