Bode Courtney Scott and Sheryl Gaynelle Chewning were united in marriage on July 24, 2010, at Hollywood Church of the Brethren in Fredericksburg, Va., with The Rev. Dr. Roger Grimmett and the Rev. Rick Ritchie officiating the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Frank and Evelyn Jett of Fredericksburg, Va. She received a doctorate in physical therapy from the Medical College of Virginia and works as a physical therapist in Stafford County Schools.
The groom is the son of the late Paul C. and Marguerite G. Scott of Vandalia. He received both a bachelor’s degree in political science and a juris doctorate degree in law from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, as well as a master’s degree in reading from University of Illinois at Chicago. He is finishing his law practice in Vandalia.
The bride chose Sarah McIntosh, daughter of the bride, as matron of honor.
The groom chose Frank Jett Jr., brother of the bride, as best man.
Caroline McIntosh, granddaughter of the bride, was flower girl. Paul McIntosh, son-in-law of the bride, was soloist.
Dinner and dancing was enjoyed following the wedding at the Fredericksburg Country Club. The rehearsal dinner on Friday night was at the home of the bride.
After a wedding trip to France and Switzerland, the couple resides in Fredericksburg, Va.
