Fayette County Salvation Army raised a record amount in donations during the Christmas season.
The bell-ringing campaign collected $14,900 from locations across Fayette County. That tops the record set last year by $1,000.
During the last week of November and all of December, more than 220 volunteers manned kettles at Wal-Mart, Harmon's Market IGA and Rural King. There also were more than 20 unmanned kettles in locations throughout the county.
