So often in history, the woman’s story is overlooked and left untold. Such would have been the fate of Roda Wing, wife of Fayette County Surveyor Alexander Hamilton Wing, were it not for her scrapbook being placed on the shelf of an antique store.
Made by Mrs. Wing for her son, John Alexander Wing, the scrapbook contained articles written by her during the years 1883-1904 for the publication,
"Colman’s Rural World," based in St. Louis.
