Rev. Hoehler ordained as St. Paul Lutheran pastor

The service of ordination and installation for the Rev. David Hoehler as pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Shobonier, was held Aug. 22 at 3 p.m.
The rite of ordination and installation was performed by the Rev. David Bueltmann, president of the Central Illinois District, The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
Serving as preacher was Dr. Robert Weise, professor at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. Serving as liturgist was the Rev. Doug Meyer, Salem Lutheran Church, Salem.
Altamont Zone pastors participating in the ceremony were:  the Rev. William Emrick, St. Peter Lutheran Church; the Rev. Bruce Milash, Immanuel Lutheran Church-Augsburg, Shobonier; the Rev. David Speers, St. Paul-Blue Point, Altamont; the Rev. Clayton Vail, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Altamont; and the Rev. Peter Kolb, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia.
Also participating were: the Rev. Greg Pavelski, St. Louis; the Rev. Mark Willig, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Chester; the Rev. Lee Maxwell, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Maryville; the Rev. Fred Campbell, pastor emeritus, Chester; and the Rev. John Loum, Concordia Seminary.
Hoehler completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1987 and was awarded a bachelor's degree in education.
He did his seminary field work at St. John Lutheran Church in Maryville, and his vicarage at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester.
He completed his studies at Concordia Seminary and received his master's of divinity degree in July 2010.
In April 2010, he received the call to serve as pastor at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shobonier.
