Reunions

Buzzard
All descendants of Daniel and Ayres Buzzard are invited to the Buzzard family reunion this Sunday at the Greenland Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Beecher City, beginning at 12:45 p.m.
A covered dish potluck dinner will be served, with table service and drinks provided.
Jim Buzzard will give the welcome, and Dallas Buzzard will serve as master of ceremonies and offer the blessing.
Several great- and great-great-grandchildren of Daniel and Ayres Buzzard are scheduled to participate, beginning with Sam Buzzard presenting “The Chronicles of the Second Daniel” and Jerry Frailey presenting “The Benjamin Buzzard History.”
Musical entertainers will be Cheryl Reed, Letha Frailey, Mary Frailey Koberlein, Bruce Kessler, Revis Shelton and the Lyle Prosser family. At about 3:30 p.m., Dallas Buzzard will adjourn and thank everyone for coming. The remainder of the afternoon will be spent visiting and viewing displays.
Family members are invited to attend and share their parts of the continuing legacies of Daniel and Ayres Buzzard with photos, displays and memorabilia.

Atwood
The Atwood reunion was held on Saturday, June 25, at Rogier Park in Vandalia.
The noon prayer was said by Esther Cunningham, and after the meal, the meeting was called to order by the president, Jim Atwood, who led those present in The Lord’s Prayer.
There were no births or marriages to record.
Kay Funk Holt, of Colorado, called Connie Grubaugh to report that her husband, Frank, had died earlier in the year.
The oldest present was Wanda King, while the youngest was Crystal Critcheloe. Traveling the longest distance were Don and Esther Cunningham of Danville.
The officers elected for 2017 are: president, Tom Grubaugh; vice president, Max Atwood; and secretary/treasurer, Connie Grubaugh.
The 2017 reunion was set for Saturday, June 24, of next year.
The closing prayer was given by Wanda King.
Charlotte Atwood took over the duties of secretary/treasurer in the absence of Connie Grubaugh, who had back surgery and was unable to attend the reunion.

Shulman
A reunion of the family of Maurice and Golda Shulman was held for the 52nd year, Aug. 5-7, this time in Chicago.
Jill Shulman Digebjerg, until recently of the Chicago area, made the initial plans and arrangements. Her parents, Rand and Karen Shulman, finalized details and served as hosts upon Jill’s family’s move to the Phoenix area.
Events included: bowling and dinner at Pinstripes; a Chicago River cruise; and the main event, dinner at the reunion hotel site. No births, deaths or marriages occurred in the family this past year.
Forty of the 41 descendants of Maurice and Golda Shulman attended.
Present were Maurice and Golda’s children: Rand and Karen Meseke Shulman of Austin Texas, Marc and Susan Babbitt Shulman of Naples Fla., Ken Shulman and Susie Spector of Boston Mass., Minna Shulman and Steve Rotman of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and Todd and Janet Walsh Shulman of Vandalia.
Maurice and Golda’s grandchildren: Rand and Karen’s daughters – Edie Shulman Shumaker and John Shumaker, Sara Shulman and Jacque Barton, all of Austin Texas, and Jill Shulman Digebjerg and Peter Digebjerg, now of Phoenix Ariz.; Marc and Susan’s daughter and son – Liz Shulman Whaley of Blue Diamond, Nev. (Liz’s husband, Dave Whaley, was unable to attend due to work commitments), and Joe Shulman and Jessie Hanrahan of Boston Mass.; Ken and Susie’s sons – Max Shulman and Prentiss Benjamin, now of Colorado Springs, Colo., where Max will begin teaching at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs after completing his doctorate at Tufts University, and Jackson of Minneapolis Minn.; Minna and Steve’s son and daughters – Daniel Rotman and Megan Ainscow of Montreal, Maia, a law school student at the University of Toronto, and twins Anna, who is starting a government internship in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and Katie of Montreal; and Todd and Janet’s sons – Jake, a student at University of Missouri, and Scott.
Maurice and Golda’s great grandchildren: Edie and John’s children – Michael, a student at the University of Chicago, and Marissa; Jill and Peter’s children – Tucker, Jax and Ava; Liz and Dave’s sons – Owen and Kai; Joe and Jessie’s daughter – Emma; Max and Prentiss’s son – Tennessee; and Daniel and Megan’s fraternal twins, the youngest members of the Shulman family, who were 1year old in May, Josie (Josephine Victoria, named for her maternal great-grandmothers) and Mo (Maurice Arthur, named for his paternal great-grandfathers).

Dothager
The annual Dothager reunion will be held this Sunday at the Pleasant Mound Community Center.
A potluck meal is at 1 p.m.

Darnell
The 84th annual Darnell reunion will be held at noon on Sunday at Liberty Christian Church in rural Brownstown. A potluck dinner is being held, with drinks and dinnerware provided.
This year's theme is "Red, White and Blue," so family members are asked to dress accordingly.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Liberty Church services at 10 a.m.

Sefton
The annual Sefton reunion will be held on Saturday at Liberty Christian Church in rural Brownstown.
Chicken, dinnerware and drinks are bgin provided.
