Richards
The 56th annual Richards family reunion was held on Sept. 15 at Rogier Park in Vandalia, with 79 in attendance.
Those present discussed the family tree project that is in progress.
The business meeting was called to order by the vice president, Virgil Richards. Jamie Elmore gave the 2012 minutes and treasurer’s report.
Marcy Jones gave the historian’s report: one death, Everett R. Jarrett, on Dec. 20, 102; no marriages; and one birth, Rylee Jean Elmore, to Justin and Tasha Elmore on Dec. 1, 2012.
In old business, the group discussed targeting family members who haven’t attended in many years. It was decided that anyone having addresses of those who should be invited should send that information to elmore74@msn.com.

Hunter
The descendants of Benjamin and Mella Amanda Hunter gathered at Vandalia Lake on Sept. 7.
A potluck dinner was held at noon, with Connie Bolyard asking the blessing.
A business meeting was held. Kim Jakse was elected president and Connie Bolyard was elected treasurer. All voted to buy a memorial brick in memory of Benjamin and Mella at the Fayette County Museum. Deaths reported were Rich Cohoon and Carol Rine passed away.
Gifts were given to: oldest male, Bill Oliver; oldest female, Winona Childress; youngest: granddaughter of Jeff Diveley; traveled the farthest, Chad Diveley; and mother with most children present, Rossetta Diveley.
