South Central High School graduate Spencer Patton will soon be called up the Texas Rangers, according to a report in Monday’s edition of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
According to the report, Patton is the only Rangers prospect that General Manager Jon Daniels would confirm will get a September call-up when MLB rosters expand to 40 players.
Patton, who was acquired by the Rangers in a July 16 trade with the Kansas City Royals, is 1-1 with a 0.69 earned-run average and is 3-of-3 in save opportunities for the Triple-A Round Rock Express of the Pacific Coast League.
